What is YTMP3?
YTMP3 is a YouTube to MP3 converter that lives in a web page. Paste the address of a YouTube video into the box above and the site prepares a file you can keep — an MP3 when you only want the sound, an MP4 when you want the picture with it.
It is built for the ordinary reasons people want a local copy of a YouTube video: a set for a flight, a lecture for a commute with patchy signal, a backing track to practice against, a language lesson worth replaying. Nothing is installed and there is no extension to approve: the work happens on the server and the file arrives in your browser.
Advertising on the site pays for the servers, so the whole thing stays free to use. The one call YTMP3 cannot make for you is whether a particular video is yours to copy.

How to convert YouTube to MP3

Copy the video address
Open the video on YouTube and take the address from the browser bar, or use the Share option on a phone. A short youtu.be link works exactly as well as a full one.

Paste it into the box
Drop the address into the field above and press Search. If you do not have a link, type the title or the artist instead and choose the right video from the list of matches.

Pick MP3 or MP4
Press Download on the result card. The two tabs separate audio from video, and under each one sits a list of bitrates or resolutions. A higher number means a larger file.

Convert and save
Choose a quality, give the server a moment to build the file, then save it. It goes wherever your browser normally puts downloads.

Trim it if you only want a section
Optional, and MP3 only. Once the conversion has finished, a Trim button appears next to Download: set a start point and an end point, and everything outside them is left out.

On a phone the layout folds into a single column and the finished MP3 or MP4 lands wherever that browser keeps its downloads. Tablets and laptops get the same controls with more room around them. The conversion runs on the server rather than on your hardware, so an older phone copes with a long recording as well as a new one.

Where does the file end up?
In whichever folder your browser uses for downloads: the Files app on iOS, the download tray on Android, a Downloads folder on a desktop. The site keeps no library for you, so save it before you close the tab.
Can I convert something when I do not have the link?
Yes. Type a title, an artist or a line you remember into the box, and matching YouTube videos are listed underneath. Converting one works exactly as a pasted address does.
Why is a format missing from the list?
The options come from the source, not from us, so an upload with no separate audio stream, or one the source restricts, can come back short. When a tab has nothing to offer, the card prints the reason in place of the list.
Why was I asked to slow down?
Searches and playlist lookups are capped per visitor over a short window, so one busy tab cannot crowd out everyone else. It lifts on its own within a minute, and no upgrade raises it.
